The papaya is the fruit of the plant Carica papaya. It is native to the tropics of the Americas, and was cultivated in Mexico several centuries before the emergence of the Mesoamerican classic cultures. It is sometimes called "tree melon" or pawpaw. The papaya is now cultivated in most countries with a tropical climate, such as Brazil, India, South Africa, Thailand, and the Philippines. This dried papaya contains no sulphur or dyes.
Uses:
Ready to use as a snack or use in recipes. To reconstitute for use in any recipe, soak overnight in water.
Uses:
Chia seeds can be used as toppings or mixed into yogurts, smoothies, puddings and most baked goods. In savoury dishes, you can also use it as a ‘breading’ for baking seitan, tofu, eggplant, or any other fun dish!
Storage:
Store in a cool dry area at a temperature below 15˚C. Shelf life will be 10 months to 1 year under correct storage conditions.
