Peanuts are a member of the legume family, related to lentils, peas, chickpeas, and other beans. Peanuts are also known as ground nuts, goober peas, monkey nuts, and pig nuts. Organic raw unblanched peanuts have been shelled and have their red skin still intact.
Unblanched raw peanuts are ideal for home roasting, or to can be enjoyed raw as a snack. They are excellent sprinkled on salads, in stir-fry recipes, or other dishes.
Peanuts must be stored in a dry, cool place, away from heat and light, for an estimated shelf life of 6 months. To extend shelf life recommended storage temperature is between 35-45°.
